Our Curriculum at Tintagel Primary School & Nursery
At Tintagel, we are committed to providing a knowledge-rich, curriculum that inspires curiosity, promotes inclusion and empowers every child to succeed. We believe that all children deserve access to a broad, ambitious education that equips them with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to thrive both now and in the future.
Our curriculum is carefully designed around meaningful enquiry questions which encourage children to think deeply, ask questions and make connections within and across subjects. These enquiries help bring learning to life, giving children opportunities to explore important concepts, investigate the world around them and develop a genuine love of learning.
Learning is rooted in our local context whilst also broadening children's understanding of the wider world. Through high-quality texts, rich vocabulary, memorable experiences and purposeful discussion, we aim to develop knowledgeable, articulate and curious learners who are ready for the next stage of their education.
Above all, we believe that great learning should be accessible to everyone. Our curriculum is built on the principle that every child is entitled to succeed. Through inclusive practice, strong universal provision and high-quality teaching, we support all children to participate fully, grow in confidence and flourish both academically and personally.

To meet the needs of our mixed-age classes, learning is organised into curriculum cycles. Our Year 2/3/4 class follows a third cycle to ensure pupils experience a broad and progressive curriculum without repeating learning as they move through the class.
