Our Curriculum at Tintagel Primary School & Nursery
We follow a knowledge-engaged, enquiry-led curriculum, with inclusive learning at its heart. Every child is known, valued and supported to thrive in our nurturing environment. Our curriculum is deeply rooted in the context of our school.
In order to immerse our children in learning that is rich in context, memorable, relevant and challenging, we link our learning each term to a whole school enquiry - or ‘big question.’ This enquiry focus sits under the umbrella of one of our 12 core values and so, over a two year rolling programme, each core value is visited in depth. These values help children grow not just academically, but personally and socially too.
Enquiry lessons (usually History and Geography) are driven by a  key question, designed to spark curiosity, deepen understanding and encourage critical thinking. This enquiry approach empowers children to explore, discover and make meaningful connections across subjects.
Our curriculum is shaped by seven key drivers:
High-quality texts, vocabulary, discovery, empowering every learner, pedagogy, knowledge and skills, and whole-school values. These principles underpin all aspects of learning and ensure a rich, inclusive and purposeful experience for every pupil.
